To support our chapter members in training and CPEs, the Greater Kansas City Chapter of Certified Fraud Examiners is pleased to announce a live virtual training event for the 2021 Fall Workshop, Emotional Intelligence and the 21st Century Successful Fraud Fighter for 8 hours CPE.

Friday October 15th and Sunday October 17th, emails will be sent with instructions on how to join the live virtual training and to test your machine/browser.

CPE will be sent out by November 19th, 2021.

Presentation

During this presentation, the following topics will be covered:

Do you know what it takes to thrive in the 21st century, complex world, of fraud prevention and detection? Possessing strong technical, interviewing, investigating, and assessment skills, are only part of the answer. The 21st century, successful fraud fighter, must exemplify high levels of emotional intelligence, be able to appropriately leverage information and technology, and effectively engage others, especially today, with 5 generations working side by side.

Please join us for an engaging and interactive program, where Julie Kowalski of Spizzerinctum Group, will share how the key events experienced by each generation impacted that generation’s attitudes and actions, and how to leverage this knowledge to effectively communicate to, and engage with, each generation. Julie will also walk through the 5 levels of emotional intelligence and provide tips and tools to help master each level.  Throughout the session, attendees will have the opportunity to not only apply the learning to their specific work situation, but also leverage the experience, tips, tools, & successes, of other attendees through hands on skill building exercises.

Attendees with walk away with:

• A strong understanding of the modern 21st century workplace landscape, and the key events driving generational preferences and complaints
• A strong understanding of exactly what emotional intelligence is, and what it is not
• A strong understanding of your emotional triggers and what to do to ensure they do not get the best of you
• Knowledge of the 4 communication styles of the 21st century worker
• How to adapt your communication to meet the needs of each of the 4 styles and “get more” from your interviews and investigations
• Words which hinder effective communication, and therefore need to be carefully assessed as to whether to use them or not
• A strong understanding of the specific behaviors people with high EQ & low EQ demonstrate
• A strong understanding of exactly how a high level of Emotional Intelligence can help you more effectively (and efficiently) engage not only team members, but also clients and auditees
